Game 7

There is no Game 7 tonight. As hard as I tried and willed the good positive vibes out there, the Bruins were beat by the Blackhawks and lost the chance to win the Stanley Cup. It was an amazing run. Nobody knew how far they were going to make it. When i put up that first bit of playoff art on my Facebook page i included the phrase "Who's ready for the playoffs?". Well one "friend" over there replied 'Ha. Not the Bruins. One and done." Well how wrong was he?

In 2011 when they won, I didn't know how long it would last and just really enjoyed the ride. It was amazing and a roller coaster of a post season. This playoff season I really wanted it cause this team is nothing but rock solid great players with a lot of heart. Yes, Boston is hated by many, and it does feel good to play the villain when you can. I am a born and bred New Englander, i like just North of Boston, and feel tied to the city and state. We had some nasty stuff happen in the city this year and no doubt that the Bruins helped a lot of people get through it. It is always good to have a strong positive distraction, be it movies, sporting events, music, to help rebuild the good vibe and thoughts in your mind. The Boston Bruins did that.

It has been a crazy ride on here as well. I kinda slowed down the regular BBW and plus sized art postings to focus more on the Bruins. I really like drawing the bears that I did for the team. i hope that some time i will lead to something more. Some of them came more naturally than others and I definitely feel it's helped make me a stronger artist. That is always a good thing.

So with so many different posters and pinups of the bears in black and gold to choose from, I had no idea what to do to close out the season. Watching the game saturday night, when it didn't look good, i thought of how the Boston hockey teams I watch end their games, losses or wins. To show respect to their fans, it's happening all over now, the home team gathers at center ice taps their sticks on the ice and raises them up to salute the crowd. Hockey is a brutal, scary, awesome sport. It is also one of the classiest and most respectful sports out there. Through all the battles of the season the two teams finish each round with a team wide handshake. Respect.

This is how I salute and thank the Boston Bruins for all their hard work and all they have done to add some positive energy back to the city and state. I also do this to show respect and thank any and all of you that took the time to check out all my artwork on here. There will be plenty more coming soon.

One last time....

Here We Go Bruins!!!
