Festive Friday.

So around this time 3 years ago I decided I needed a spot for myself on the internet. I dug in and made a little burrow right here. The name has changed a few times, as has the art. It has always been my purpose here to showcase and promote myself as best I could. I think the fact that i am still standing here proves i must be doing something right.

I really hope that all of you that stop by here and the other spots I now occupy enjoy yourselves and get  something out of it. It is all done out respect and love, no matter the subject matter.

Here is to another year of growth as an artist and hopefully in support and profitability.

Peeking Under The Tree

So every year growing up we had a tradition in the Mac household. We all got to open one present on Christmas Eve. It wasn't anything major, the present was usually kinda lame, but it was still fun.

I wanted to keep the tradition going on here. So here is a little peek under the tree at a few unwrapped gifts.

Busy Bee

I was busy with the art thing all day yesterday. Trying to keep my mind in good spirits while I search for a good day job to keep all this going. Not gonna lie, its getting scary people. Any support, thoughts, well wishes or donations are much appreciated. Thank you.

TCT - Throwback Edition

Hey all. Happy Thick Chick Thursday. Hope your week is going alright. My week has been a fucking emotional roller coaster. It sucks, its whiney if I go into it so I don't want to waste your time with it.
I am actively job hunting around here and its just not working out. got hurt while trying out for one job and had to step away. Got a 2nd call back for a job they turned me down on the week before, only to have them use me as a glorified fill-in that day, Very disappointing. Really thinking and leaning towards leaving the MA area and New England as well. If you have any insight, advice or thoughts on such a move please let me know.


Now on with the art. With all the shit thats going in and outside of my life I kept reflecting on how things used to be. Yes I am one of those people that gets stuck in the past and dwells on thoughts negative and positive. Do i wish i knew the future? You betcha. Do i wish it was 1993, 2000 or 2004 again?? Oh yeah. Can i do anything about that? I doubt it.

So with the thoughts of the past running through my mind I went through some old sketchbooks. Today is Throwback Thursday here on the blog. We are going all the way back to.... the end of summer 2011. Its not far but in terms of growing as an artist I have gotten a lot better. There were some pieces that I really did like though that never came out to forefront like they should have. So today i am posting and teasing some new old stuff.

So all these lovely ladies kinda go from summer into fall. One left over from the "Rebel girls" post i did. i will color and add her. Another plumped up version of a horror icon in "Crystal Lake". A sexy and scary witch. With all the talk of traveling back in time I had to include a sexy "Mcfly" right??

So here is hoping for more fun and positivity in the future. Ha!

TCT - Tailgating Edition

Its that time of year again. The crisp autumn air is slowly creeping in. We got a good taste of it yesterday here in New England. The smell or beers and brahts cooking on an open grill in a parking lot filled with cars. Young people entering stadiums half naked with other peoples names painted on their chests and backs. Ahhh yes, its back to football.  While the NFL doesnt kick off until next week, we get our first taste of real gridiron competition tonight with the college football season getting underway. I am not a huge fan of it but I do pay attention to how the season unfolds. Its hard not when its the only thing to watch on saturdays ya know.

I don't really have a favorite team. Boston isn't really known for its stellar college football programs anyway. I always root for BC. Pay attention to the Harvard and Yale thing. Other than those ones I go for the midwest teams mainly. ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State, Wisconsin. Pretty much all the schools with good college hockey teams I pay attention too. My school didnt have a team so i can pick and choose. we barely had enough people in my class to fill out a roster anyway.

So as a nice little treat to join the party I did a nice little football theme.

Hump Day - Birthday Edition

Not everyday i get to wish someone special a happy birthday on here. No its not mine. You will have to wait til November to get me something good. Or not. You could always, ya know, hit the gold button to the left and help a brotha out.

Its not about me today though. Today is Britney Black's birthday. Wahooo!!! I wish i could have gotten you something special Brit but times are tough around here and your Amazon wishlist aint cheap there girly. So in honor of your fun, beautiful, sweet sexy self I figured i would adorn the walls of the blog with some art of your ass again. Hope you like it.

Full Color Friday

I'm kinda digging this theme for fridays. This is one of the few that i have done in a row. I try to color the best works and sketches that I have and want to share. I am thinking of trying to keep it going as it gives me a goal to work towards at the end of each week. Sound good? Good.

Next week posts may be a little more varied and delayed as I start my new job monday. Working all day will push back when i get to the drawing board. I am not slowing down though. More plus sized goodness coming at you.

These two were done for a commission. Still waiting to hear back about it but wanted to share with all of you. Two takes on the same girl.

Showtune Saturday

I do love my theme days don't I?

So last night I was watching "Tangled" again and got the itch to draw Ms Rapunzel and her crew again. So i picked up the pencil this morning and went nuts in the sketchbook. Most of the time when i do stuff I try to keep it from taking up the whole page so it easier to scan. Well with the "Tangled" crew i said fuck it and went full page, full rough and worked the hell out of my ebony pencil.

I really like how these came out and will clean them up some and color them. So keep your eyes peeled.

As far as the showtune aspect goes. I love to sing along to soundtracks and act out certain scenes when i am working. Helps with the creative flow. Just wanted to share that. A big white guy, that likes big girls and enjoys showtunes. Yup. Thats me. :)

Not bad for working fast and hot right?

Hump Day - Return Edition

Helllloooooooo Las Vegas. Goodbye actually. I'm just as sad to have to leave you as I am to have to go trust me. Next year I'm going to come back bigger and better than I am now. Not in terms of size of myelf physically, but content and production wise yes I will. Fanfest was amazing. i can't say it enough. i still may be a bit jetlagged and fuzzy in the head, so the big Fanfest update will be up tomorrow I think.

Today though, since it has been a while since I have posted new art i figured I would at least post some Fanfest related material. While I was stationed at my table I had my sketchbook open and was keeping my self busy and trying to sell some work while sketching. I grabbed a couple magazines from the airport and the hotel and used them as reference. Other times I just did some light stuff based on existing prints. Some came out pretty well considering my mind was all over the place taking in the sights, meeting new people and whoring my art.

Hope you enjoy them.

This one was very appropriate for the spot i was in. Being across for the plus size burlesque troop it seemed fitting that Ms Gypsy Rose Lee should be drawn. "Let Me Entertain You" is right alright.
